EHOME and Liquid exit The International 6
The fourth day of The International 6 was nerve wracking for everyone involved. Every game played was in the lower bracket, and three teams would be eliminated after the day's events. From qualifiers and direct invites to underdogs and tournament favorites, no one was safe.
The first series of the day saw the battle of two teams that won themselves a lot of fans at this tournament. TnC Gaming, the SEA sensation who had eliminated OG, and Digital Chaos, the NA up-and-comers, pushed each other to the limit in match. TnC started out strong, securing a victory in game 1. But DC bounced back in game 2, with an excellent Ember Spirit performance from Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok. Now DC had momentum on their side, and in a short 28-minute game 3, they secured the 2-1 win and knocked out TnC.
Team Liquid played Fnatic in the second series of the day. Liquid received a direct invite to TI6 and was one of the favorites for the top spot. But they struggled to keep up with Fnatic's pace in game 1, and soon found themselves down 0-1. A more reliable strategy in game 2 gave Liquid the early advantage, but a number of disastrous team fights in the midgame allowed Fnatic to make a comeback. Fnatic took out Liquid 2-0, and will face off with MVP Phoenix in their next match.
In the third series Digital Chaos returned to the stage to play EHOME. The Chinese squad looked completely unstoppable until day 3, when the NA titans Evil Geniuses knocked EHOME down to the lower bracket. Now facing a different team from the NA region, EHOME’s troubles continued. DC won game 1 with an incredible 20,000 gold lead. Game 2 was a bit closer, but Digital Chaos held the advantage throughout all stages of the game, securing the 2-0 victory.
